Selsey Bill is an iconic landmark situated on the south coast of England in the county of Sussex. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is renowned for its stunning views and wildlife. It is situated at the easternmost point of Selsey Peninsula, which is approximately 7 miles (11km) from the city of Chichester.

Selsey Bill has been inhabited since the Iron Age and was an important trading post during the Middle Ages. During the 17th and 18th centuries, Selsey Bill was a popular fishing village and its fishermen were renowned for their skills in catching fish and crabs. There is evidence of Roman occupation in the area, but the current landscape is mostly due to 18th century coastal defence works.

At the tip of Selsey Bill, there is a lighthouse which was built in 1838 and is still operational today. The lighthouse was built to help guide ships safely through the sandbanks and shallows of the English Channel. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in England and is a Grade II listed building. The lighthouse has a height of 95 feet (29 metres) and its lantern can be seen from up to 16 miles away.

The area around Selsey Bill is a haven for wildlife and is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The coastal habitats are home to a large variety of birds, including many species of seabirds such as guillemots, razorbills, and cormorants. The nearby wetlands are also good areas for bird watching, as they are home to migrating waders such as dunlins and curlews. The area is also a great spot for whale and dolphin watching, as these marine mammals often swim close to the shore.

Selsey Bill is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. During the summer months, there are a number of activities to enjoy, such as swimming and windsurfing. The beach is also an excellent spot for picnics and barbecues, and there is plenty of beach space to explore.
