Bosham is a small village located in the Chichester District of West Sussex, England. It lies on the eastern bank of the River Arun, at the northern end of Chichester Harbour, an inlet of the English Channel. This area is an important site of conservation and home to a variety of rare and protected species of birds, plants and animals.

The village is believed to be of Anglo-Saxon origin, although the first written record of its existence dates to AD 955. Its name is derived from the Old English word ‘bosm', which means 'house or enclosure'. It was first recorded as 'Boseham' and over the centuries the spelling has changed to its current form.

Bosham has a long and varied history, having been home to many different people over the centuries. It is believed to have been an important port in Roman times and was an important centre for fishing and boat building from the Middle Ages onwards.
